There are tons of reasons that a smoker should use to quit smoking. In your quest to kick the smoking habit you have to find one that is justifiable for you. It is good practice to make a list of the reasons you feel you should quit smoking and read it on a daily basis. To get you started here are a few good reasons to quit:

1) By giving up smoking you stand a much better chance of living a long and healthy life. Exercising can help to get you into shape and allow you to do the things you have always wanted to.

2) You look better. Your skin, nails, and teeth come back to life and the yellow smoker’s look begins to fade away.

3) Smoker’s breath is gone. You might even get more kisses from your spouse due to your better smelling breath.

4) Studies have shown that children whose parents smoke will most likely start smoking as well and they will start the habit at a much earlier age. Also, children have a higher risk of respiratory diseases from second hand smoke. Quit smoking for your children’s sake.

5) Fetal defects are mainly caused from smoking. As a matter of fact Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) is a great risk if you smoke while you are pregnant.

6) Your spouse can also suffer from respirator diseases that are caused by exposure to second hand smoke. Also, as mentioned earlier there is a lot less kissing.

9) Think of the health problems that are associated with smoking. There is a nagging cough, lung cancer, and impotence. By putting down the cigarette you are saving yourself from these health problems.

10) Think of the time and irritation you will save yourself. You will not have to find the designated smoking area, and you won’t be made fun of for standing in the rain and the cold just to smoke a cigarette.

11) Your clothes, home, and car will no longer have that nasty smoke smell on them. And you won’t have the burn holes on your clothes, furniture, and in your car.

12) You will be able to take control of your life. With a fresh sense of healthiness and the fresh air around you, you will find yourself ready to live all over again.

Those are some great starters to your list. Come up with your own list and read it on a daily basis. Make the decision to quit smoking and start living all over again.
