Disposable Cameras At Your Wedding

December 19th, 2007 · No Comments

Disposable cameras at your wedding reception is a great way to have your guests take pictures of your reception from their point of view. They might find shots that the photographer missed. How many should you use, if you choose to use them at all?

Well the typical disposable camera holds 27 pictures. So going from there, how many tables are at your reception? To make sure that you don’t have any unused film months after your wedding place disposable cameras on every second or third table. Ask certain guests to take photos, or your cameras can wind up in the hands of children who may snap photos of anything.

Remember that the film and the flash in disposable cameras will expire, especially the flash. Do not purchase these cameras too many months in advance. When the time comes to purchase them they should be stored in a cool dry place.

To avoid your guests from taking these cameras home make sticker notes (use address labels that say “Do Not Take Home”) and stick them right on. Have your DJ or MC remind your guests to take photographs, turn the flash on, and to leave the cameras behind at the end of the night from time to time. We all know that some people have to be told to do things!

Buy good quality cameras with an automatic flash built in so you do not get any wasted shots.
Have your shots developed onto a CD so you can preview the good ones from the bad ones before you have them printed. Remember that the pretty “wedding cameras” may not have good quality film, and may turn out grainy.

Some of your guests may come with their own cameras many of them digital, ask them to email you copies of their photographs or burn them to a CD. You can set up all your photos online from your engagement to your honeymoon by creating your own personal Wedding Website . A wedding website is great because it gives people a chance to see your wedding if they couldn’t be there and it also allows your guests to upload and share their pictures and stories from your wedding.
